Helping Special Friends Inc. (HSF) is a provider agency offering personalized residential services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. HSF supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to enhance their abilities and interests. We partner with individuals as they become self-sufficient and live everyday lives. HSF helps individuals find meaningful roles in their community and to feel valued as community members. HSF supports in-home, community services and independent residential living.

How HSF is Funded?
Our services are covered by the State of Pennsylvania with zero out-of-pocket cost in most cases. Part of Helping Special Friends Inc commitment to you is to assist in getting you these benefits. What is Supported Living?
Supported Living is for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who live on their own but want a little extra support with activities of daily living. Helping Special Friends staff provide 1:1 support and make sure that individuals get all their physical and behavioral health needs met.
Our Individuals
Steve s is a 6ft teddy bear that has been with Helping Special Friends since 2019. Steve is non-verbal but he has a lot to say. He has made many changes over the past year, including living in his own home. He enjoys dining at restaurants with the administrator and friends.
Anthony has been with Helping Special Friends since 2018. He loves living independently, in his own home and interacting with others. He expressed to the administrator, “the program (HSF) has changed his life.”
